Blog Post on my awesome HK grad trip! long and wordy! for now ; more photos soon!
departed from Budget Terminal at about 12 noon, was so damn excited because its going to be my first time taking a plane, the walkway to the plane was quite a long way, were like settling our seats and i wanted the window seat! Hweeyee was complaining about the lack of leg room! while queuing i was explaining the parts of the plane to my friends! finally came a time where i could actually apply what i've learnt!
awhile walking to the plane i was singing " a moment like this" exaggerating my feelings! and we were on the plane and i was so happy that i couldn't actually sit still, then came the take off! was so glad Michelle and Hweeyee were listening to me blabbering nonsense all the while! Tiger Airlines food wasn't that bad, could've been a bigger portion! the landing part was so fast the plane kinda like dived from so high up to almost meters from ground in seconds! and the skies were like cotton candies! beautiful sight!
reached HongKong and the burst of cold airport air was the first to welcome me!even the airport was so cold! took Llewelyn's jacket and went to buy our Octopus card after immigration! and i think the immigration security was racist, he wanted to scan my luggage! but wasn't much of a fuss as he just asked where i'm coming from and the luggage was out from the x-ray machine and oh! i was actually carrying Michelle's luggage! took bus to our guest house at Tsim Tsa Tsui! Cosmic guest house was kinda not we had imagined, lol. it was way smaller and 5 people had to squeeze while the other 4 girls took the other room, which was even smaller! went for dinner at a shop nearby and the wonton was good, accompanied with iced milk tea! dropped by HK Mac, discussed itinerary and went back, unpacked and slept at about 2. and oh the toilet door was quite bad. sleep was good.
rise and shine at about 8+ and went for breakfast, ate 'bo luo bau' i think, was good before walking around dunno where we were and suddenly hopped onto a mini bus not knowing where we were going till the uncle asked where we wanted to go, ended up at Yau Ma Tei, think if not mistaken we left from Mongkok, had a soft ice-cream and some other street food over there! oh then we went to eat Wonton at this damn good wonton place and then desserts! was kinda shivering due to my cold dessert, but it was nice! then we went to Avenue of Stars which was just a short walk away from where we stayed! they had a collection of the HongKong actors and stars, the only two i knew was Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee! before we watched the fireworks display at 8, bought Starbucks, everyone was smart enough to buy themselves a hot drink except for the brilliant me, buying a caramel frappé, adding more shiver.
the lifting display wasn't that bad, breeze was awesome though, went back for dinner, wanted to go to Spaghetti House, this shop was rather alot at HongKong, however we saw the wrong menu and ended up in Shakey's Pizza, told them i was craving for pizza, so we dined there and they had a very fun manager, Anson, who made fun of Felicia and her risotto which she kept saying "mee soto".there was even a part he burst out into laughter when delivering the food to Felicia! was a fun filled dinner! KJ, Llewelyn and i shared 3 slices of pizza, went back and they said the'll offer us the 6room and 3room as planned earlier, and we said we'll let them know the next morning!
Day 3 was to Ocean Park! before we left shifted rooms, since the 4 girls were too cosy in their small room, the 5 of us took the bigger room! this room was definitely better! and it had a proper toilet door with better heater! had Mac breakfast before leaving to Ocean Park, been waiting for so long to have my first official roller coaster ride! OceanPark was exciting! all the rides were amazing! cant recall the names of the rides we took but it was damn fun! oh i forgot about the cable car ride to the top! KJ,llewelyn,Felicia,Linmin,Peiling and Beizhen were in 1 car while me Hweeyee and Michelle took the one behind! and it was the best cable car ride ever! if i recorded Hweeyee's voice and censored all the bad words she was screaming out in fear the video will be "bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep" for 5 minutes, iy was a thrilling ride! tried to stay calm throughout the ride so i wont freak out the other two! haha, saw seals, took the "mine train' to warm up before the "Dragon" which had 2 360° loops! played almost every ride except the 2 which involved water! the Abyss drop made me regret the moment it shot up to 60meters, and it was impossible to scream!
after all the minor rides, we took the "Dragon", didn't dare sit on the last seat as on the "mine train" cos this felt scarier! the ride went away fast and we were at our first 360° and i started screaming out lyrics of "Firework" cos it too fast and faster than you knew your ride ended, it was a good one though! My first major roller coaster success! Linmin and Felicia weren't too well after the rides though, but they recovered fast! then we bought Mac for lunch which was next to the money sucking fun fair! i still kinda regret wasting so much money playing those games repeatedly trying to win stuffs! but it was all worth it, after 2hours, the guys had won enough soft toys for all 6 girls! we even had to give away a few! but we totally had so much fun! went to visit Pandas and the goldfishes before going to the Giant Aquarium, where it was like National Geographic in front of your eyes!fishes, sharks, sting rays, star fishes , clown fishes, you name it, they have it! was so engrossed i broke away from the rest and went way in front exploring everything and came back looking for them! was a memorable visit!
watched this spectacular show about 2 dragons, was a very thrilling show as fire exploded out of the water and the fireworks to end the show was amazing! was a good show to end the day!went to Mongkok for dinner at this epic place, their 'chee cheong fun' had filling inside and it was good! skipped porridge cos it wasn't too filling and ate noodles instead! happy food! and i had to buy lip balm cos my lips were starting to crack and i couldn't even eat properly! met up with MingHui and HuiTing at Mongkok and went for desserts at this popular mango shop! was quite a tiring day! kept imagining myself on roller coasters before i went to bed.
Day 4, wonton for breakfast! and among the best char siew pau i ever ate with the delightful egg-tart. awesome breakfast! went to Stanley market for some shopping! the bus ride was torturous, turns after turns going uphill, did some mini shopping at Stanley Market, bought this amazing heat packs and had ice cream by the seaside before going for photo shoot on the huge rocks. spent quite a bit time there enjoying the scenery and the sun before our twisted bus ride down again, was sitting in the opposite direction on travel and almost everyone had fallen asleep on the bus except for Hweeyee and Beizhen,who had to share a seat because of me! sorry you two! when we reached the bus stop down, we made our journey up the same route again up to The Peak, this time the ride was better, reached the Peak and went looking for dinner!
Ended up in BK for dinner, thanks to the people who don't eat much, i ended up stuffing myself with the onion rings and fries, they kept me warm when we wear at The Peak! the scenery was beautiful, but it was damn cold, the guys did a macho shot without wearing shirt, the wind was so cold, i was actually numb half way through. tried jump shots and enjoyed the breath taking scenery! the place was getting colder and colder as time went by and we took the Peak tram down, everything was slant at an angle of about 45°, the view wasn't that bad, just that the tram was travelling in a reverse direction!took a group picture worth 120HKD at The Peak! went for some night shopping at not sure where the place was but it seemed liked 'pasar malam' almost all the stuffs sold there were like that, they even had a whole stretch of stalls selling only sex toys! and another whole street for fortune telling! KJ treated me to this traditional candy which was super sweet! nice!
went back to Tsim Tsa Tsui, went 7-11 and got us beer for the night, the drinks were cheap even after the currency had been converted, got the guys 4 beers, ended up drinking 2 and Llewelyn was having his sharing session of the misery girl! while i was busy trying to defrost the heat pack, not too sure if they were getting tipsy or what, but they were uttering nonsense more than usual at times! was another awesome day spent, ended it with a long hot shower! everyone were excited about the next day, i was most excited though, cos we decided to go Disneyland!!
Day 5, woke up trying to set my hair nicer as today, cos will be visiting Disney Princesses! had the most awesome deluxe breakfast in HongKong, it was seriously a very large breakfast meal, and opposite where we dined was Manchester United Official Bar& Restaurant! me and Llewelyn were determined to drop b tonight! it was just a block away from where we stayed! went to Tung Chung, the place which was the factory outlet for alot of stuffs! did window shopping mostly though, cos the things were a little too high end for me and then had dinner somewhere along the market and it was the biggest ala carte lunch i ever seen, Beizhen & Peiling,Felicia & Linmin, KJ & Llewelyn, Michelle & Hweeyee all ordered in pairs cos the portion was so big, but hungry boy me went solo and finished all of it! even ended up trying the meat from the rest cos they couldn't finish, new achievement unlocked! and then it was to Disneyland!!!
the moment you enetr Disneyland you can feel the magic of it already! the childhood reminiscence! Felicia told us we can get stickers from any of the Disneyland staffs, so we went around collecting stickers and Belle appeared most of the times, but i was lucky enough to get the only Ariel sticker! we were warmly invited by High School Musical performance, reminding of the times we prepared for CYA graduation! played all the kiddy rides and i took picture with Princess Aurora (sleeping beauty) she wasn't too bad! walked around, watched Stitch's show, where KJ was made fun of! there was this ride "Space Mountain" it was so fun! that we took it 4 times!! after the first ride, you don't feel the adrenaline and i was taking it to pose for the camera and i unfortunately missed the parade where all my princesses were!! we took a few other rides as well and went to take pictures with the mascots! then we went to get souvenirs and we had to remind each other to stop buying stuffs! was just fun being there!
oh! there was this pretty Singaporean girl! didn't get a chance to stalk! one of a kind. lol then we watched the tinkerbell show, and the fireworks, it was very heartwarming! a blissful kind of feeling! once the show was over, we raced to get the MTR out! i'll surely want to go back to such a place! and the song 'a whole new world" kinda became our theme song and got stuck in everyone's head! went back to Tsim Tsa Tsui and persuaded KJ, Linmin and Felicia to come with me and Llewelyn to the Man Utd bar! the other 4 girls went back, packing their stuffs. the bar was good! and lucky us, the day we went was a 1 for 1 cocktail day and they gave us a side on the house! should have worn my jersey on that day! spent time there till they were about to close and were planning on franchising it in Singapore! went back to our guest house and it was going to be the last night in HongKong, we were supposed to wake up at meet at 6, which means to wake up at 4+ to go for authentic yum cha dim sum breakfast and it was almost 2am, was falling asleep slowly till there were loud noises, then siren of police and ambulance, but we didn't bother and went to sleep, the other girls were worried cos we went to the bar, tweeted them we were alright.
woke up for breakfast with the classic Felicia's "wake up everybody.. wake up.. wake up" in the blocked nose voice! the been hearing it since day 2 of the trip, we went for breakfast, everyone were kinda stoning till we started eating, i had awesome company, they told me they aren't ordering beef and asked me to eat everything they ordered and it was a good filling breakfast! with the remaining food, played guess the number and losers finished the food. went back to pack as we had to check out at 11am, time was about 9am, KJ, Lleweyn,Felicia and Linmin were sleeping to " a whole new world" on replay, must have been having magical dreams after heavy breakfast!
after checking out, went for some last minute shopping, the girls and the guys split up and were to meet back at 2, so me KJ and Llewelyn bought our stuffs and souvenirs before having our last wonton lunch, and the wonton was huge! went back and left to airport by bus! did another round of shopping in airport before check in, had to kind of rush for our flight, was a very crowded A320 with a toddler sitting in-front of me, crying for half the journey! and when we reached back SG, the plane door couldn't open for half and hour, another new experience! stuck on a landed plane!
all said goodbye and it had been a wonderful graduation trip! check out photo's on FB! there's lots of albums!:)
